Hilulah
Wednesday, May 18, 2022 • 17 Iyyar 5782
6:30 PM - 9:00 PMHilulah is the passing of a great tzaddik who taught Kabbalah, and unlike a typical azkara, which is marked with sadness and even fasting, a hilulah is commemorated through simcha and festive celebration.
Join Magen David as we celebrate Lag B'Omer and the hilulah of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai z"l, the author of the Zohar. Learn about our treasured tzaddikim, men and women, who filled this world with their spiritual light, as we auction beautiful and ornate pillar candles, hand-painted with their portraits. Enjoy a delicious, authentic Sephardic 3-course dinner and listen to live Judeo-Arabic music performed by Rabbi Moshe Tessone. Plus, meet Magen David's Rabbi Candidate, Rabbi Aharon Zerbib, as he shares words of Torah and engages with our community throughout this magical evening not to be missed!
