Our Mission
A TOUCHSTONE FOR SEPHARDIC SPIRITUALITY
The Jewish people are one family. We at MDSC are keenly aware of our place in the larger community, as well as our responsibility to the Jewish people as a whole, and the nation of Israel. Our mission is to create a warm and welcoming space in which to worship, learn, and maximize the potential of our youth. We are open to all who find inspiration and pleasure in the Sephardic heritage.
We strive to deepen our spirituality through worship. We increase our understanding of Torah through study. We contribute to tikkun olam (repairing the world) by performing acts of chesed (loving-kindness). We inspire our children to preserve Torah values and Sephardic customs.
From the culturally diverse character of our congregation we derive and celebrate minhagim that are many and varied. Country and cultural differences make for a stimulating spiritual environment. It gives us pleasure to support members and friends from all backgrounds, throughout the life cycle.
